About the course

Our Diploma in Culinary Arts is designed to help students prepare for various opportunities in the culinary industry. Students can expect to spend a significant amount of time in our commercial kitchens with over 60% of the programme based on practical trainings. This hands-on programme covers various aspects of the culinary field – from theoretical classes on Hospitality Operations, Menu Design, Food Nutrition, Sanitation, Hygiene and Services, to practical classes on Culinary Essentials, Patisserie, Garde Manger, Butchery, Classical French and such. KDU is also the only institution to offer Molecular Cuisine at a diploma level, with several other specialised subjects such as Culinary Artistry and Design.

*The 30% bursary is applicable to the tuition fee component only.
Entry Requirements
  • SPM / GCE 'O' Level : Pass with min. 3 Credits;
  • UEC: Min. 3 Credits;
  • Any other qualifications deemed equivalent by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia (or as stated in the Document Senarai Nilai Taraf Kelayakan Akademik, Malaysian Qualifications Agency): Pass (Subject to review and approval of certified transcripts);

English Language Requirement

  • Pass (SPM / 1119 / UEC / O Levels examination)
  • Band 5.5 in IELTS; or a score of 196 (computer-based) or 69 (internet-based); or 525 (paper-based) in TOEFL
